Had my first request to rehab a set for someone this afternoon!

How many millions are there in doing them for just shipping costs?

I 'might' have an issue with third gear so I've thrown out a call to the masses to ask for some opinions. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=192113

Personally I would get another engine from Chuck. I would hate to put that much time and effort into my bike only to have that engine bite me in the end...

Yes its got some tiny knicks but really theres nothing there thats goona bite his "end" If he feels he needs another it will be in the box with the other pqrts when i send it..ive done some checking and to get the engine from Texas to Michigan is anyplace from 325 to 450 bucks. WAY cheaper and cost efficient to get the packages together with just whats really needed in my opinion.

The engine won't "bite you" if you go though it piece by piece and measure/verify everything. It's a bigger risk buying an unknown engine and tossing it in.

            To measure is to know.

Chuck, I don't think those gears are going to be an issue, but it's nice to know you've got my back just in case it might be.

It needs a new sleeve, washer and nut.

I was sure you are younger than me and I still think I am in my thirties!

I must say, with the exception of the damaged parts, the other parts look quite good.

I will add the sleeve and nut to the list , but i would get a new unused lock washer. Looks like its been opened and repeened a few times.

Let me see If I can polish out the sleeve before you add it to the list.

If you have a good nut that will be great, else I will order it along with the washer.

Damn Dale, you have had a time of it with that motor, considering how bullet proof these things are, the PO must have been a really special kind of stupid.
But as allways, your pateince and due diligence and attention to detail are beyond reproach, no doubt she will be purring like she just came off the assembly line when you are through with her.
Poor Penelope, reminds me of an abused child that was left abandoned at the orphanage with no love, only to be adopted by a loving, caring family.
Be gentle with her, she is fragile.

Stan ..I say shes tough as nails with a constitution to live and breathe pure fear into Dale on that first ride..I know mine are so smooth its honestly hard to keep them at the speed limits. I just wanna twist the grip and go like hell.

Or we will have to come back again and Drag Dale with us, and come invade the Lone Star State and see what them Stetsons and ten gallon hats are all about.
Outta here, before Dale pops me on the head for hijacking his thread.
