Cool, except scrolling back through I can't see what you were getting done to it... just primed? Or lined as well? And is that a dent towards the back on the left hand side or just the photo? Small bit of body filler should sort that if it is a dent

Aaah cool, it shouldn't be too hard to sort that out. Once you get it prep'd and cleaned well the body filler should take care of it... just some sanding to get it smooth and you should be all set

Well I haven't done anything with the bike in a about a week now......I got the exhaust and all the boots for the carbs......I just need the time to install everything......

I was reading the manual and on the 425 there should be an access door to the oil pump screen......there doesn't seem to be one on mine.....anyone else know anything about this?

Weird... the 450's have nothing like that, you can only access the screen by taking the sump cover off.

I just looked through the 425 fiche on Alpha Sports' website and can't even find the sump cover...

According to my clymer manual the 400 and the 425 s both have it.....its about the size of the oil filter door and directly to the back of it.........theres a circle stamped there on mine but no opening

Aaaah... maybe the earlier ones had it and they changed the casing for the '79 year?

Even weirder... perhaps it was a cost cutting exercise from the 400's then? Who knows what went through the Suzuki engineer's mind?

Can't help you on that one I'm afraid... what seems to be the issue? are you not able to get the headers to separate enough to go around the frame and into the exhaust ports maybe?

I can get the headers on....they come apart.....but when I have that angle right it pushes the muffler into the wheel.....but Im gonna work with it some more later....I just didn't have very much time.....it came off a 78 400 so it should work.....

Weird... coming off a 400 it definitely should work!

Pop a thread in the exhaust forum if you haven't already... I'm sure there's someone on here with a Mac on a 450... might have been Charlie G come to think of it...
