    ok great....will look into that.....

i rode it to work today and took a ride over lunchtime......very smooth acceleration....is running a bit lean and has a small oil leak.....i think its coming from those rubber plugs at the end of the camshaft.....need to synch the carbs yet but im thinking with the way its running its not very far off....

other than that i need to finish painting and save up to recover the seat and she'll be done

Mate that sounds great, excellent stuff

I occassionally duck out for a lunch time ride myself, always puts a nice break in the middle of the day.

If the half moons are what's leaking, they're also available new and are cheap. I put some sealant that I used on the crankcases on my half moons when I put them back in. If you do that, just be real careful not to overload them as when it hardens you don't want chunks to come off and float around with your valves and camshafts.

My local dealer actually has a set of those half moons in stock..... So I'm planning on picking up a set on sat hopefully.......so last night I went out into the garage only to find a puddle of gas under my bike.....my petcock rebuild apparently failed and gas was running straight though and out the carb bowl overflows........so I ordered a new manual petcock.. http://www.speedmotoco.com/product-p/smc-44.htm. Hopefully those two thing will fix both leaks and i cam be on the road again......

Bugger! Just don't forget to turn it off when you get the manual one

I'm not surprised on the half moons as they're pretty common amongst the different models.

And yeah, getting both those leaks solved should get her all sealed up

Well I got some time with the bike today.....went to the dealer and picked up those half moons....took off the valve cover to fix the leak......I also switched the exhaust from the mac 2 into 1 back to the 2 into 2 that came with it because I liked the sound better....I also did some painting....

                          To this......

Its still not finished yet......still waiting on the petcock to arrive and after that there is some tuning to do but its almost completed....

Mate she looks heaps better! Nice work

Is it just the photos or do you still need to give that paintwork a polish?

Well the paint for now will stay the way it is.....I had a clearcoat I was gonna use however when I sprayed it on....the paint bubbled up.....so that caused great frustration....so I just decided to leave it alone and maybe attack it next winter.......

On another note I received the new petcock I ordered......so after filing out the center hole for the filter to stick through.....I got it installed only to find it leaked.....so I got some gasket sealent and reinstalled it only to find the on/off/reserve switch leaked......so again very frustrated at that........

Man that sucks... hopefully you'll get that sorted soon and you can just ride

And yep, paint can certainly wait... as long as the metal's all covered it won't rust and you can revisit that later
