no problem. FYI the 120 tire in the rear comes really close to the chain guard. The 130 is an easier tire to find but I'm not sure if a 130 would actually fit without modification.

What sucks is the front shoes are expensive and nobody makes aftermarket shoes for the front.

riding to work this morning was uneventful but after work I got about a mile before it sputtered and died again &%$*!!!!!! Turning it to prime fixed the issue but reserve or on would go a mile and die.... wtf.... it worked fine this morning... well this morning was 70* this afternoon was 104* maybe that made the difference.

Well I feel stupid... in another thread I asked about if there was a difference in petcocks from different years and models well I think I found the problem and it wasn't the petcock.... Turns out the vacuum hose was pinched. I don't know if it being hotter out made the hose more malleable but none the less when I put the tank on it became pinched.

I took the spark plugs out and to a friend who told me they appeared to be forming a blister on the ceramic therefore were too hot for my bike so I am trying a set of D9EA... so the saga continues.... what will go wrong or break next? Anyone taking bets?

yeah im thinking i got a false positive on mine which is what caused my ignitor to fry. i don't trust that bias test in the manual now.

i meant to ask you, did you do anything to seal up your airbox?

I didn't do anything with the air box. I think the design on our 300 is different than the others. I don't think there is any sealing necessary.

Well after realizing my stock horn isn't going to cut it I decided now is the time to upgrade.

Here is the horn in stock form. stockhorn.mp4

A visit to the auto parts store

Laid out all the parts. One horn is a high tone the other is a low tone.

Made an upper bracket the new horns mount to. Also made a lead to go from the battery + to the relay.

Here they are mounted on the bike

 Here is said relay

Finally after some wiring here are the new horns. newhorns.mp4

Mate, nicely done! That's something I keep forgetting I want to do... hate the "meep meep" that's on there now and definitely want something a little beefier...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

After yesterday I wanted to make sure people could hear me when they don't bother to see me... Now the horn is as loud as a standard car horn. They do draw a lot of power though compared to the OEM single horn...

Another nice thing is the mod is 100% reversible. Plus the wire I ran from the battery is rated at 15 amps so I can tie off of it to run other things if I want to.
