I will probably have to go that route, but the tank pads are all shaped for the newer bikes and not the older squarish tanks - worried that it might looks silly.Comment

Wally, I had one of those pads on my GS450E tank before I repainted it. They make them in a clear material, and it's pretty unobtrusive.

The GS was sold this morning - got a good offer on it.

I wasn't! Happened to stumble upon a guy who was willing to pay good money for a good bike. Tested the water and he took it (over a similar model with only 18 000kms on!). The money will fund the other one.
