Usually the clip position is all you really have to mess with on the Dj kits in an otherwise stock motor. I'd pick up some washers the same size as the ones included in the kit (and I may have a few if you can't find any locally) as you may find that shimming the needle to a position inbetween two slots on the needle is where the sweet spot is.
I'm jealous man
that is not only one of the three GSes I've not owned and want to (I am getting one of the three in the 81 1100E that is coming my way soon
and the other would be a 78 1000E) but its also one of the coolest paint schemes on it
I will be watching with interest and keep up the good work
And if no one has spoken up for the airbox lemme know what you'd like for it.
