    GS850 Savanna Project

    Hey guys,

This is one that I have been working on for a while now.. Still not done but working on it. It is not a resto project but an idea that I had and wanted to see what could be done.
The tail was chopped previous to me obtaining the bike so I went with the new design. Please don't hammer me too hard on the non-vintage look. I think the lines of the bike work out well, and am really pleased with how it is turning out.

I still have engine work as well as shock work to do on the front and back.

    It looks great!
What is the dots that line the frame rail behind the engine?
Please don't say that those are some stupid lights or Harley studs.

They used to be lights... Since that pic was taken the factory headlight bucket was put in and wired up. The stabilizer bars for the top edge of the fairing were fabricated and put in and all of the lighting was removed.

wow.. i did not even notice that.. that's cool.. thanks for the compliments on the bike.. it is a 1980 GS850 core with a 2005 GSXR600 tail. it was a nice match for the bike and the ride height is perfect.. did not change at all from the stock ride height.

I thought of putting all of the electronics under the seat and doing the clean look through the battery area. Might be a good look too. Not sure...

Thanks for all of the positive comments. I am really happy with how it is turning out. Just got a whole new engine to replace the one in it. No paint on it just polished aluminum. I think it will look better. Not so "Storm Trooper-ish".. although it does look good with a black engine...
