A suggestion, though for the thread: If you copy the IMG code in the links box and paste it here like this:

    Cowl bracketology

This is the bracket I started with which is for a '90 GSXR

Here is the home made bracket that attaches to the yoke.

Here is how the lower bracket attaches to the frame. Used 3/8" pipe stub.

I like the idea of fitting a GSXR fairing
You are apparently using mounting points that resemble those used to mount the std fairing on the 1100 Kat?

    Front Fairing Pics

Here is another couple of looks at the fairing mounted.

TimTom: Thanks for the photoshop image. I decided to cut the fairing to match what you did.

The first time I saw a GS1200SS I thought "Damn, why can't we get those here?" Then I read some blurb about how in the 80s the GSX-R1100 was never sold in Japan, and that was the modern retro for the japanese people that always want to own it.

Maybe an early GSX-R1100 fairing would suit the part a bit better, although any suzuki dual headlight will do it justice

Looks awesome! Do you have any plans of installing the lowers for the fairing or not? If not I think it would look much better with some of the bottom end trimmed a bit. I took the liberty to do a quick photoshop mock up of what it could look like trimmed a bit.

It all hinges on whether or not you plan on putting the lowers on or not. In my eye the trimmed version looks more finished and intentional than it is now.

I really like your project, keep going on it!

    Comments Please

I am trying a new look on the GSXR/GS1100e retromod. Off comes the big train light and on comes a '90 GSXR fairing with the dual lights. Again I am trying to give this project a GS1200SS vibe and using this fairing helps maintains the Suzuki bloodline.

Don't make a point of the overall color scheme because that will change after I get everything mocked up.

Thoughts, comments, and opinions are welcome.
