Thanks Steve, this is a big learning curve. We have to start somewhere I suppose. I'll get some of those to try.

 Fork legs painted.

Actually a lot of stuff painted, my garage is one big drying rack, but at 2degrees Celsius, it is not happening quickly

Another quick question for any readers, anyone know what size the brake bleed nipples are?

 The frame job

 From this

 To this

 And finally this

The paint was almost dry in the last pic and it shows the final colour pretty well. I'm lovin' it.

You have to love my paint booth though.

Be carefull about painting in such a low temperature it could cause the paint not to stick very well, and could end up peeling off.....

Get some high power work lights in there or a heater of some sort and get the place warmed up until the paint has a chance to cure properly......

Thanks, but I have no power out there. I generally heat the metal bits and the paint up upstairs in my flat then head downstairs with the lot to do the painting, I am tired of getting overspray all over the kitchen . Curing time is reduced though. Will definitely heed your point, the last thing I want is peeling paint, I have no interest in redoing this. . Curing time is reduced though. That's pretty good progress!

I always feel like I accomplished more when doing the smaller refurb projects than the big stuff. I think mainly cause you would never see or know how much effort went into it.

 Keep it up!

 Thanks Wally
I would just feel a lot better if I was bolting the little things onto big things

With a little luck I'll get the wheels and suspension onto the frame this weekend. Then at least it will start to look like a bike rather than a bunch of bike bits.

The other issue is that paint fumes and my wife don't go together too well! This bike has already got me into a heap of trouble and I haven't even had it running yet!

Thanks guys, it makes my garage feel like a castle.

It was way too cold to spend too much time in there this weekend. But I did manage to do some assembly done and made a start on the wiring too.

My forks are at the chromers so I managed to pick these up on eBay for a couple of quid.

They are just temps until I get my originals sorted.

Here is the progress so far, keep in mind that both sets of shocks will be replaced

I also got the old gunk and dead tape off the loom.

 Slow progress

Sorry for the lack of posting, been doing a lot of work but it really is not looking like much, I am on version 3 of the seat and it is starting to show some potential but hardly looks any different from the last post
