    81 gs450t- my first bike!!!

Hey so yesterday I decided to buy my first bike, an 81 gs 450t. The seller was asking 500 but I ended up haggling him down to $400. He had originally started to build it into a cafe racer but lost interest, the bike has new tires, carbs, signals and drag bars. However he said he was experiencing an electrical problem so he removed the entire harness and unwrapped it. Does anyone know where I could source a new one? I'm also going to have to figure out how to relocate the battery and coils because he cut off all of the mounting tabs. Any info on how/where to source parts i need and how to relocate the battery is much appreciated, I can't wait to get on the rd!

    Welcome!

I'd suggest eBay is your best bet to start looking for a harness.

Once BassCliff comes along with your mega welcome, have a good read through everything and that will get you going in the right direction

Having said that, post a hello thread in the GS Owners section so BassCliff can find you

well i hd little bit of free time today and started to sort out the wring harness, however i don't think im gong to be able to make it work as its quite hacked.
Heres my question, will any 81 gs450 wring harness work or does it have to be specfc to the touring model? also what years are compatible?

it doesn't have anything for your harness, but on most parts you can check here to see what other bikes used a specific part.

for instance the petcock on your bike is shared with all of these bikes
