I remember riding one a short distance in 1967, in the rain. The sudden power band was quite a surprise coming from a BSA B33 500 single. Comedy of opposites.
I had a '72 T250 for quite a while in the 90s. Pretty much the same bike but most everything is a bit different. Absolutely smooth at 90 kph/55 mph but rather buzzy wound out. Some vintage racers have fitted rubber engine mounts - not visible - to reduce the vibration for comfort and longevity. T500 had them as did Gt750s, etc. , although the ones they used were Yamaha as I recall.
What tires did you fit? Duro?, IRC?Comment

I have just seen this. Lovely job and very inspiring. I have been looking for a suitable TC250 for a while, (I like the high pipes) to go with my TC120 that is just about done now.sigpic
Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.Comment

Wow, so gratifying to see it finally done. Love your comment about the surprising power, imagine what it's like with a little port-matching and polishing. Fantastic job!!Comment

Looks great. Did you try one of those wix airfilter elements out? i got a set but have yet to try one in the airbox, neither myself, or my son have had the extra cash to start on one of ours yet. Did you find a set of crank seals, or were you able to use the old ones?Comment
