well where off to a ruff start. help needed

So I am working on a 1979 gs750 and have hit some road blocks. To start I have never heard this bike running but was told by the previous owner that it was driven into the garage I got it from. This bike has stock airbox no pods.I had the carbs off and ripped apart and went over with air and cleaner new battery put in and fresh oil.

Now the problem. well it just ain't starting. I do have spark and competition. What would one look at next?

The carburetors. Take them off, strip them down, dip them or use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean them completely.

    It's in here someplace:

Life is too short to ride an L.

Yes, look though Cliff's website and download a manual for your bike. Your carb cleaning shortcut just became a long cut, since you now need to start over. O-rings from cycleorings.com (VM kit). Read though the Newbie Mistakes thread so you can know what to look out for.

      Good luck.
