    GS750E Tank on GS1100EZ

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone would know if the tank from a 1982 GS750E fits on the 1982 GS1100EZ without having to make any mods?

I haven't been able to see what the mounts are like on the GS750E frame.

    Thanks.

Mind if I ask why you want to do that?

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

      Hi Rob,

The shape of the tank on the GS750 I quite like. I'm thinking of picking up a GS750 next week. The tank also looks similar to the 81' GS1100E tank and the 82' GS1100GK tank. I'm keen to know if the mounts are the same / different.

The tank you're talking about will mount on the '80-'81 GS1100E and the '80-'82 GS750E. If you want to mount it on any other motorcycle in existence, you will have to do some fab work either on the frame, the tank, or both.

The tank won't look right on an 1100EZ (or ED) anyway. It's too short and won't reach the upturned front part of the seat, so you'll have to do something about that if you do manage to mount it on your bike, or you'll have an upturned seat with a 3" gap between it and the tank, which will look retarded..

            .
            Not true, it fits very well on a '78 - '80 GS1000 or 1000E.
I have one on mine, fits great, looks great. If you weren't a GS connoisseur you'd think it was original.
