Tried to master Photobucket but failed, so it's going to be one photo per post. Apologies for that.

Not too shabby for my first attempt at doing a UJM (if you don't count a 1975 GoldWing as a UJM...)

Obviously there are a few non-standard parts, completely due to non-availability in this part of the world. Having said that, finding a brand new OEM front master cylinder in Holland was a real win!
Now it's time to do some shake-down rides to see what breaks or falls off....

I like the mirrors, what brand are they and did they bolt right on?

I see you went with Hagon Shocks, what model (size) are those?

Finally, I see a leverless petcock, does that work OK on the VM carbs and why not the stock one? (answered my own question, price difference over $200 more for the 79 model, both still available though)

Beautifully done! I think you did a very nice job of picking replacements when the originals are not easily found. (Or at all). Wish mine was finished.

I like the mirrors, what brand are they and did they bolt right on? https://www.denniskirk.com/ken-sean/....prd/39264.sku I chose them specifically because they have slotted mounting holes, which meant I didn't have to butcher the fairing top support brackets. And they are the closest in appearance to the originals that I could find.

I see you went with Hagon Shocks, what model (size) are those? I'll have to trawl through my paperwork to get the model. I chose an all-stainless steel body (special order + extra cost) because the standard fit model for the 1000S has a chrome spring but black body. I'll PM you if I can find the details.

I bought a '79 tap at great expense, then found out that I had a 1980 tank, and the two aren't compatible. So I've got a new OEM '79 tap still in the wrapper...

Finding aftermarket mufflers that vaguely resemble the long '79 originals was really hard. I admit the end cap of the peashooters isn't ideal, but the best alternative I could find had a "Gattling Gun" style on the outlet.

The purple farkle thing is a digital voltmeter, just so I know what's going on under me. It's wired direct to the battery but switched via the toggle switch on the right hand side of the dash (the analog clock is powered from the same switch). The voltmeter is an eBay special, and is only held on by adhesive Velcro tape. The need for the meter has diminished somewhat since I installed an SH-775 and removed a heap of overheated electrical connectors.
