Drew, happy to help as well anyway I can. My mom lived in Barrie for years before she passed.

Well it's been a while since I have posted but i thought I would provide an update for those interested.

I have been fortunate to sell a lot of the extra stuff that came with the bike and my starting investment so far now is $400 for the Kat. I still have a bunch of stuff to go through and sell so I think i am doing really well. I have flip flopped many times on what the colour of the bike will be but I have decided the stock colour it will be. I will be painting the frame Kubota Orange because it think that really suits the bike. Here's is what I have so far purchased in CDN funds so -30% and you will see the US cost

        1993 GSXR 1100 Front End- $690
        2003 Bandit 1200 Rear end- $350
Offset 17T front Sprocket - $99 from Katman

New parts I have bought right from Mother Suzuki, I was shocked to be able to get these!

        Left handle bar controls- $128
        Right handle bar control- $99
        Right throttle grip- $33
        Left Grip- $13
Stop lamp switch and spring- $20
        Choke Cable $20
        Pivot bolt :$45
        Right side Faring piece:$42
Mag and Points cover emblems: $28

So about 2K and lots of new parts. Once I have the swing arm modded for the dual shock set up, i will send it out for paint and then start to put everything together. the only thing I am really missing is the exhaust but i think that will be easy to find.

        Drew

That's what I payed for my 83 Kat in 1993. Crank was bent on both sides from PO crash and was unaware of the value on the con rods. This was early internet days, didn't have a clue. Bike has about 120K on it now, american.
          GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ES

Decided against the orange frame? Looks very nice. Should be fun to ride, for sure.

Changed my mind about 20 times on what I was going to do which is why it has taken 2 years to get this far

What's the length of your shocks?
I'm always concerned about ground clearance on my Kat!

Bike is completed and on the road. I have a few things to iron out but all seems to be good.
