Pretty cool!Originally posted by twerth View PostI got the paint sprayed over the weekend. I'm never happy with my work, but it didn't turn out too bad. I've got a busy week coming up so it will probably be next weekend before I can get it back together.sigpic

Yes, I do paint in the open. To help keep dust down, the whole garage gets blown out with a leaf blower. Then I install furnace filters in the windows on one side and set a squirrel cage fan blowing out the window on the opposite side (you can see it in the tank picture). Then the floor gets hosed down right before I start to spray.Originally posted by Sam 78 GS750 View PostLooks pretty good to me... Do you paint in the open like that? How do you deal with overspray and dust?
Over spray isn't a problem. Even professionals spray multiple parts in a common booth. I rarely have issues with dust either. If I do, I'm using two step automotive urethane, so it will get cut and buffed if necessary. This particular paint job flowed nicely, so I'll decide once it's back together whether I buff it out or not.
Here's another shot of the tank from the other side. Thanks for the compliments, fellas.Attached Files

I got it back together last night and rode it around a little. It's cloudy and damp here, so I couldn't put many miles on it, but everything seems to be working like it should. I think this one is almost done.Attached Files
