GS1100GK getting a mild teardown

So I've officially started ripping her up. Our very own groundpilot came through and took the front fairing off my hands, so the build can start.

Now that we're here, next step is a Harley Daymaker headlight, some modest turn signals and mirrors, and some mild cleanup.20180802_113301.jpg

And also, we have to lose this tail frame and the trailer hitch.

That's awesome JeDaug! I've got a few updates as well. I'm doing a quick buildup, the cleanup and polish will come this winter. Here she is with her new matte black 7" bucket.

And here's the lights running! I accidentally let a wire touch the fork while testing connections and I think I fried my flasher relay. Oh well, it's about the adventure, right?

I know it's all about better visibility and those H-D lights blind, but I just don't care for the look of modern lights on vintage bikes.

You didn't waste any time after I left did you?. Don't worry about spare key for fairing locks. Stopped at RV store down here and picked up 2 new barrel locks.

Awesome, good stuff. Nope, I had some free time on Friday so I dug in. Temporary build for now, wintertime is when the cleanup and paint will happen.

I agree. I would install a Truck Lites 7" LED instead of one of bug eyed options.

Indeed, different strokes and all that. It's your bike and you should make yourself happy before worrying what anybody else says.
