    What year is this GS750

    Hi,
picked up a old GS. It runs but needs a lot of work. From the frame, the VIN is listed as
    GS750G-2147.

what year is this bike and any other info?

    thanks

There should be manufactured date, on the VIN tag, on the neck. If it is still there....

The “G” (=shaft drive) GS750 was not sold in North America. I’ve found very little info on them, and I don’t find it at all on the parts site from Europe that seems to otherwise be very thorough. https://www.cmsnl.com/

Not sure if the 750G was sold outside of the home Japanese market, as it was designed to meet a capacity / licencing limit there.

It did come from Japan, and based on limited research, I think its a 1981 based on color.

As is. Pretty rough but the engine and tranny are good. 231673006_550545506384848_7372313828580593759_n.jpg

Exhaust is interesting, and looks custom built. Bet it’s loud.

1980 or 1981 for sure. From what I understand Japan had a cc limit set at 750 back in the day, that's why they didn't get the 850 shafty.

                      Good luck with your project

Looks like they robbed the leftover parts bins for the home market special.
Those solid discs and the horrible hockey-puck front calipers...pure 79 parts.
