This was racing at the weekend at Ruapuna Park circuit outside Christchurch New Zealand - went very well too. The meeting was the Lady Wigram Trophy revival for Historic and Classic cars. Bikes ran too.

Owner/rider is Pete Waters from Timaru, NZ who was a regular on big Suzukis at our Castrol 6 hour races back in the day. He owned one of the first batch of GSX1100's imported and has recently found his old one - in pieces. He rides this one pretty good...6th and 7th overall against pre 89 bikes, 3rd in pre 82 class behind a RG500 MK6 and our GS1000.

Cams and a pipe plus careful, experienced assembly and setup...hard to beat.

      Nice thread!
I'm currently in the (slow) progres of building a '80 1100ET to race with. There are a few classic superbike competitions here, so that's my goal
      -Yamaha SR500 '79
      -Yamaha XT600Z Ténéré '90
      -Suzuki GSX1100ET '80
