My new Pro ET bike.
My new to me 1987 GSXR 1100 small tire back half conversion Pro ET bike. Is almost done. I had a problem with the new RC Comp rear wheel and had to send it back and they are making me a new one. But she is all done except for the rear brake line, hand grips, and of corse the mounting of the rear wheel. It should be here any day. Started her up yesterday and I got the 40mm Lectrons all set up today seems to have a good idial and revs quick. It is Bandit 1200 motor with a 1216cc pistons and a Nicely porter stock valve head, .380 lift cams, completely stock bottom end with a slider clutch. All Dyna electronics with launch limiter , MPS auto shift box and delay box. It's been a long time building in my spare time starting from a frame, body, and wheels ( rear wheel was bent ). After my new wheel gets here it will only take one more days work and she's ready for the track.Last edited by Guest; 03-13-2016, 04:08 PM.Tags: None -

what was the problem with the rear wheel? - bike looks good from the pictures- I know you can knock off some more weight with a 18" RC front wheel - and improve your roll out and the same time.
is it a wheelie bar bike ? under 350 would be a dream and really easy to get moving
ray do your 44s' have power jets ? I know you have some other parts I need,, it's about time I get some money out to you-SUZUKI , There is no substituteComment

The rear wheel was machined wrong the sprocket bolt holes were drilled off center to the center collar so the sprocket would not bolt down to the wheel. RC was really good a about getting it taken care of and sent me a new wheel it came in yesterday. Yes I would love to have an RC front wheel to match the rear but the funds were getting tight. Eventually I plan on getting a nice complete inverted front end for it. The front end that is on it is going on my 85 1150 when I get a new one for this drag bike. Yes it is a bar bike all aluminum chassis including the wheelie bars. The frame was stupid light with the chain and wheels on it I could pick it up with one hand. So I think it actually is going to come in under 350 pounds but will have to see when I weighed up in Georgia.what was the problem with the rear wheel? - bike looks good from the pictures- I know you can knock off some more weight with a 18" RC front wheel - and improve your roll out and the same time.

Just for ****s and giggles I put a bathroom scale under each tire to see what the weight is on each tire and it is 125lbs on the front and 212lbs on the rear. That's 337lbs total. I wonder how accurate it is?Comment

I used the same method and got within 5 lbs of the weight that Cycleworld measured for the same bike. Considering I ditched about 5 lbs of stuff from the bike I have no reason to believe the bathroom scale method does not work.Comment

Got it weighed and It's a heavy bike. 410lbs frigggen aluminum frame. The double scale does not work. So no 8.90's for me. So far the best et is 9.27@139.40 with a 1.32 sixty changed the gearing to a 14/54 so I will see what happened today. We are at the Man Cup race in Georgia this weekend.
I need to rethink what I want to do to get to 8.70's time to build a bigger motor or just use No2

I wonder if you could find a trucker's scale (maybe a DPS scale?) and see if they'd let you weigh it. Nice looking bike!Comment
