Yammie Noob takes an '82 1100E (and some modern bikes) to the drag strip

Start video at 13:11 for the 1000E first run.

Not super exciting, but it's a GS.

I posted this mostly for the pleasure of Rob S. Not just for the bike, but I know that he will also appreciate my use of the article "an" before '82.

Sounds to me like the clutch is slipping after first gear.

Definitely, heard that after shifting into 2nd and 3rd. Wonder what it would have done w/ a clutch that stayed engaged.

Thanks, but I stopped watching after they said it was a eighth of an mile. In my neighborhood, a drag race is an 1/4 of an mile.

Eight seconds sounds so good until you find out he only ran half the race.

Am I forgetting something??? It's been a long time, but he's talking about, near the end when talking about the Suzuki, trap speed was 88mph. in 4th. I was always on a 1/4 mi. but I sure think I remember at 88mph., I'd still be in 3rd....Dang it, thought I could find top speed per gear on Suzuki GS1100E but can't figure what buttons to push on the computer. Also thought I'd seen it in manual, but it ain't there either.
