Stock air box

James that sounds like a great bike. I hadn't thought about the airbox vortex idea, but it makes sense. I mostly switched to pods cause it's such a pain to work on the bike when it takes so much effort to get the box in and out of my GS450L. Now I only have to unscrew two clamps and the air filters slip right off.

So, is there a difference running the K&N filter in the box vs the foam filter in the box? I have run the paper filter (which is K&N, I think) for quite a while and my performance has gone downhill and I have wondered if this is the reason.
