I studded my head in the hopes of never having to drill out another &*#@% broken bolt and I found two things that might be of use.
1: Exhaust manifold studs from a Volvo 240 are about perfect as far as depth into the head and threaded length out of the head. I just happened to have a coffee can of these.
2: Use Honda (auto) manifold nuts. These are castellated (split into 6/8 parts) on the end and grip the stud so they wont vibrate off.
I figure with studs and these nuts I can slather on the anti-seize and not have to worry about stripped/broken bolts anymore.
I had the studs already and I got the nuts in a "pick your own" junkyard along with a bunch of other hardware. Daewoo cars have some nice black socket head cap screws in 8x1.25 too.
