1 and 2 pipes not getting hot 3, 4 would. Not accelerating at all, and back fires alot, I started adjusting carbs and now it wont start at all. any helpful suggestions

My 1980 gs 1000 shaftie got it running after 6 years of weather,
1 and 2 pipes not getting hot 3, 4 would. Not accelerating at all, and back fires alot, I started adjusting carbs and now it wont start at all. any helpful suggestionsTags: None

The reason 1&2 are cold is because with the bike on its sidestand all the fuel that was in the carbs made its way to the two left side carbs and evaporated leaving varnish in the carbs. The o-rings have dried out as well. Go to the site's homepage and look the carb cleanup series over. That's the first thing you need to do. Looks difficult but it's not.
