              Bypassing the light switch and connecting the 3rd phase of the alternator to the R/R is OK if you run with your lights on at ALL times. The reason the light switch circuit is there is to ease the load on the R/R when the lights are off. Many agree that the weakest link in the GS is the electrical system. Unlike your car that controls the output of the alternator the GS supplies max alternator output and relies on your R/R to shunt the unwanted power to ground. The GS has a "Bare Bones" system that is barely adequate. Don't upset the balance of "power."
