    Removing bar-end mirror attachments

My 550es came with some crappy bar-end mirrors that I am replacing with OEM component weights and caps.

The stock bolt does not pair up with the bar-end mounts internally, and the rubber bits of the bar-end mounts get in the way of the handlebar weights.

Is there a trick to removing the bar-end mounts? A way to use compressed air, or does one just use some sort of hook to go through the thread and slide-hammer the thing out?

They wedge in from the inside out. You need to smack the center piece inwards to unlock them, the bolt or a punch should do it
