    side cover post

I just bought some side covers for my bike that has one missing post which I knew it had. What are some ideas to fix it or another way of attaching it to the bike so it won't fall off.

I used a wooden dowl fiberglassed to the cover. Still on there 6 yrs later.

Rare earth magnets epoxied to the cover are another popular solution

12 years for the dowel glassed on the right cover of Suzie Q, just a short piece of 1/2" dowel glassed into the same place of the broken stud. It fits snugly and removes easily. Bondo can be used as well to attach the dowel.
