    Gs1150e seat stuck! Need help

As title states, turn key and it won't release seat. Any tricks or FYI on how to remove the seat without damaging any of the components? Also, the helmet holder that is supposed to come up and down when you turn the key is no longer working properly, so the holder moves freely up and down.

Have that problem once in a while on mine, usually after being in storage for the winter months. Took me about ten minutes of playing with it to get the lock to release. Try some Jiffy Lube or lock de- icer with graphite in the lock. If a PO had sprayed WD40 in the lock, the carriers dry out after several months and it becomes sticky.

If all else fails, you can reach under the rail and pull on the cable housing.

I gues you ended up keeping the bike?

Aren?t there two little latches under the middle of the seat? That?s how my GS1100 is latched along with the key at the back.

Nope, only one latch/helmet holder on the left side. As said, reaching under the seat and pulling on the cable is the easiest thing to do if the lock or latch sticks.
