    Rear Brake Torque Arm

    Hi People,
I have a query about the rear torque arm on a GS550E (1980).
One end of the torque arm has a little ‘tab’ sticking out which way round does this go? I have a feeling it needs to ‘point down’ on to swing arm. Seems the most logical?
I only ask as this poor GS550 has been swapped about a bit with an old Kawa back wheel in it when we got it.
Now has an original GS mag wheel back in … but wanted to check orientation of the torque arm

    cheers people,
    Niall & Fergus

Good question. I think I always fitted it that way but I can't remember if there was a good reason why!

Hey SaltyMonk and GrandRouge thanks for the replys

We guessed that way, as perhaps it would stop any forward rotation by the rear calliper (if necessary).

But always good to have it confirmed.

        Thanks for your advice.

        Best Niall (& Fergus).
