Anyone know te diameter of a rear rotor for a 78 1000? Its a 17 inch alloy rim. Im trying to determine why i cant get tge caliper to set down low enough to get the bolts in. Im gonna be changing tires and ill measure whats on it and post the info to compare with what you guys say it should be.

The rear disc on my '79 is about 10 3/4 inch. Looks to be about the same as the front twin disc. Maybe you have the larger single disc on the rear by mistake.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM)Comment

I have a rotor that I'm pretty sure is a rear off a 781000E somewhere Chuck.... It's possible it's one of the fronts though. I can drag it out and email you some pics.1980 GS1000G - Sold

I got one off a 78C model today and it measures 10 3/4 diameter which is a full 1/2 inch less than the one i put on my bike. Seeing that the E and C have the same numbers on the fiche im optomistic about this one. Im gonna have a buddy sand blast it and paint it up.
