    '79 750 Fork Oil Level

Hey yall I'm trying to figure out how much fork oil my bike needs. The service manual I found and the Clymer manual I bought both say 180ml, but it seems to me like that's not right? With the springs in and the forks fully extended I hear gurgling, so that means air is going through the passages along with the oil - I assume that's a sign its lower than it should be, but please correct me if I'm wrong and that's normal.

The fork internals match parts lists I've found for this year, so I think it's the original fork. It's a single disk brake/spoked wheel with the axle at the end of the fork.

I'm used to using a oil height measurement rather than oil qty. Anyone got a reference for that?

Also wondering what wt oil folks are using. The manuals call for 50/50 mix of ATF and 10w-30 so I've been running 20wt fork oil but it seems a bit stiff.

    Download the proper manual here...https://gsarchive.bwringer.com/

50:50 ATF and 10W-30 is correct. 180cc per leg.

10 weight fork oil is a popular substitute.

Yep that's where I found the OE manual. The gurgling seems wrong but I guess if that's the only official literature then it must be ok?
