    1978 GS750 tires & suspension advice / input

Update: I bought and had a Metzler Roadtec 01 3.5 19 installed with a new inner tube and rubber strip. Note we had to drill out the hole for the valve about a mm since the new tube's are a larger diameter. That's of course the front tire so will, when available, procure the rear matching 4.0.... Until then, I'll use up the back MT66 unless it annoys me too much lol. I bought 15 weight fork oil but will investigate and probably buy seals which although not leaking should probably be changed when I switch the oil. I also tightened up the rear Progressive shocks by 2 notches to the second hardest setting. It still needs something but it's improving... Ideas always welcome.

Project completed some time back and running pretty well overall, I would like some input on tires and suspension. Bike has progressive springs and shocks, will change fork oil and get some new ~15w in there. I believe I'd mixed 10 & 15 for 12.5 as I'd done with my VSTROM which now has a 15 product Always ran MT66's. The front tire is pretty much done, the rear still good but considering upgrading. BT46 seems common but I was wondering if anyone is running Roadtec 01 (of course with tubes...) or have any other tire input. I keep this bike in the city but could take it on gravel. The VSTROM is up north and I love the Trailmax Missions except on the muddy road to my shack. ;-)... Thanks.

Shinko 805’s work great if you might occasionally hit gravel.
They are very competent on the road too in my opinion and price is good.

15w sounds quite high unless you’re quite porky…. Racetech emulators make a difference if you can afford it.
