Is anyone else inflating the tires to different pressure than prescribed in the manual?

Tire pressure
The manual for a '78 GS1k says for normal riding the front should be 1,7 BAR and the rear should be 2.0 BAR. Is that still true, even with modern tires? Cause when skimming the manual I just realized I've been riding with tires inflated to the wrong pressure - 2.3 BAR on both tires, instead of as previously steated.

Tires have changed alot since the OEM tires were installed. Avon for example use much higher pressures. The manual for a '78 GS1k says for normal riding the front should be 1,7 BAR and the rear should be 2.0 BAR. Is that still true, even with modern tires? Hi,
I use the 10% rule.
Start with a known cold pressure. Ride until the tires are up to normal operating temperature, about 30 miles should do it. Measure the tire pressure again. If the pressure goes up more than 10%, your cold pressure it too low. If it goes up less than 10%, your cold pressure is too high. Adjust your cold pressure as necessary.
Using this method I usually run about 32psi front and 36psi rear.
Thank you for your indulgence,
