    Gs550 front master cylinder

Looks the same as the GS1100G MC on my bike. I have access to a brand new one for $20.

Is it ok for use on a GS1100??

Cross reference the piston cup p/n and see if the parts are the same.

handy way to see what different model/year parts are interchangable...

However, if they look thsame, than chances are that are the same...

If they both use the same number of calipers it should be fine.

Thanks guys. I had tried compatibility of the whole unit not just the pistion and got different numbers but yes, the piston is the same so it should be fine.

There is also an new OEM RF900 MC for the same money, i might just grab that as well

        Darn cheap New OEM MC's

        Cheers

Master should have 5/8 cast into the body if it's for a dual disc setup. 14mm is for single disc (which what the 550 used in the US market other than the 550M Katana).

Yes of course, my bad. Guess I've got 8V on the brain.

My GS1100G MC piston is only 14mm and once modified to remove excess lever travel it works real good.
