Can you mix DOT3 and DOT4 in the master cylinder. I can't see why not but I could use some feedback.

Yes, you can mix them.
No, it won't do any harm.
But, why not just flush the entire system and put all new fluid in there, anyway?

Just a reminder...you can not flush away chunks in the system. If the fluid is brown and cruddy, or if you have the original rubber brake lines installed, you should do a full system tear down to clean it out properly followed by replacing the old lines with new.Ed

I rebuilt the rear caliper and thought I didn't have enough Dot 3 but I did have an unopened Dot 4 on the shelf. As it went I had enough of the 3. Thanks for your feedback.
I wish I could think of something to say about the lubricating characteristics of brake fluid just to satisfy the guys with that sort if interest. Anyone ever tried it? How'd the partner like it?Comment
