Im working on my 79 gs1000, and my front discs are about 5mm thick and rear is about 4mm. I know the service limit is 6mm but if mine are past it can the disc be replaced keeping the centres as they are riveted together? They are the solid type?

No... just get yourself a 2nd hand disc that is within tolerance. They come up regularly for about 15 bucks.1980 GS1000G - Sold
