The rear is almost complete. I just need to shim the caliper bracket.
I could just shim the caliper but I don't want to, so I will make 2 small shims for the bracket instead (one small shim, each side of the bracket instead of 1 bigger shim on one side)

      This is almost bolt-on.

          Good news,
The rear wheel is fitted, i will post pics tomorrow.
It can be done in less than 1 hour, no welding to the bike.
I modified the torque arm instead of using washers for shimming it.

The front will need a lot more work, the GS (gs850g-gs1100e-gs1100g and gs1000l) triple tree are all too narrow.
I will use a GK front end and i will have to machine spacers and forks bottom were the caliper mount.
The rotors are spreaded wide on the madura wheel.
If i can find a narrow speedo drive i will gain a little clearance.

I rather like the Maddy engine - but a cat in hell's chance of finding one here. Now wondering if I could shoe-horn one into the 79 GS frame. just for gits and shiggles.

Sorry for the long delay, not new pictures since last one.
I have not worked on the L since 2012.
I will probably go with an old intruder fork assy or maybe modifying a GK front end.
