You'll probably have to take it somewhere. I don't k ow how you'd get all the chrome off all the coils but a chrome shop could put it in a bath to de- chrome it then redo it. -

Depends on the type but it's usually out of reach of the average DIY guy. Post your bike info and a pic of your shock/spring and sooner or later someone much smarter than me will help you out.Comment

One other thing is, I guess the spring is chrome but is the top and bottom of the damper chrome or polished and if chrome can they be done as a whole damper or not?Comment

I doubt whether anyone will take on chroming the damper (it is chromed). It's not rebuildable and the chrome plater boys will never put anything in their (expensive) tanks if it so much as contains a sniff of oil.

I was mate yeah the ones I got just need rechrome however to re chrome might cost more than ?20 so thanks for that. I had found some shocks on ebay but they have been sprayed black and a bit rough so might keep looking....Comment
