What tubes do you run in your tires?

Im getting some new Shinko 230's for my spokes so Im also ordering new rim strips and tubes. With so many different tubes on the market, its easy to get confused as to what makes one better than another. With that said, what tubes are you currently useing, and which do you recommend?

I've been having good luck with Fly Racing tubes from MCS. Much thicker and heavier that most others. Been having no trouble hand mounting and no pinches or flats.

If you get one of the natural rubber ones like Michelin Airstop then they are supposed to be better in puncture situation as they don't tear & go down in a much more controlled manner...
They did just that when I had a puncture on the skunk a few months back.

I didn't find out that benefit until after when I was looking to buy new tubes but would seem like a worthwhile safety addition to me...

I have Kings front and rear, but I don't have enough miles on them to be able to say anything other than "I have Kings front and rear".

If you have tubeless rims, tubes aren't necessary. For years, tire manufacturers have been recommending that, when running tubeless tires, that tubes not be used. Using tubes in tubeless tires increases heat buildup, which decreases tire life and increases the chance of failures. (Unless your wheels have problems sealing to the beads of tubeless tires)

i agree. i've successfully changed cast tube wheels to tubeless by drilling out the valve stem hole and inserting a tubeless valve stem.

Since he's talking about spoke wheels, aren't tubes required for a good seal? I don't use tubes in my mag wheels but my new 1100ES project has aftermarket spoke wheels, so I'm curious to whats the better tube choice also.

For spokes, yes. Alternatively you could seal every nipple, but that is inviting trouble.
