they dont look that bad espcially if you are willing to repaint. You can buff off the rods and probably get them smooth enough tpo avoid ripping the seals.

If that pit buffs out they'll be fine and easy rebuild with parts available readily. Touch and go if it's in the travel area.

Marzzocchi UK carries quite a few parts still

You'll want to be careful, those shock bodies are not painted or powdercoated, but dipped in some plasticy coating.

So don't expect you're going to do a bit of sanding and make them pretty. Some sort of blasting will be needed (says the guy with two pairs)

I've made replacement shafts for them in the past....well I was given the shocks so a little machining was cost effective.

Hard chromed and ground rod is available from specialist steel suppliers.

Same here. Done it loads of times with Marzocs. Nitromors takes the coating straight off.

those shocks sold for $166!!!! so much for wasted, someone wanted them bad.

They were in good condition, the complete rebuild kit is still available for them and they usually sell for more than $166 even in the condition as shown in the pic. The set I just rebuilt was in far worse condition and now they perform like new. If I had seen them I would have dropped a bid on them that's for sure and it would have been for more than $166.

Mine were in a little better condition and i paid about $50 for them, lucky bid i guess, then i bought rebuild kit and painted them using 2 pak in an aerosol can. All up i got a good set of shocks for less than $200.
I think the rebuild kit is only about $60? Cheap way to get some cool shocks in my opinion.
