    New Goodgrich Brake Line

    Just received my new rear Goodrich brake line and banjos. I was surprised to see them as seperate components.

    Has anyone used these and should I use teflon tape when connecting the threaded banjo to the threaded line?

    No teflon tape. The sealing surface is on the flared surfaces, the threads do not seal anything. Just torque the nuts holding the fitting good and tight. I don't know what the recommended torque setting should be, but I know if they are not really tight they can leak.

        I just tightened mine nice and snug, then gave em a good tug.

        The problem with chrome fittings and other polished finishes, is it's like impossible to see if your connectors are leaking. So you have to run your fingers over them real quick and see if it feels slippery.

          Installed it tonight. Pretty slick setup. I was abble to use the old protective rubber sleeves. Unfortunately, the metal coil protectors would not make it over the swivel fitting.

          Seems like a good quality line.

            I bought the same brake lines for my bike, though haven't installed them yet, those will be about the last step in my rehab of the bike. Was wondering if the metal coil protectors would slide over the fittings, guess not lol. The copper crush washers are your seal.

            Stuff I've done to my bike 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.
