82 1100ez tires

looking for some new tires for the gs

spirited rider
i like the curves but also have to get on the highway with it

did a search for my bike didnt show up any real tire choices

any recomendations?
dont want to go expensive on tires, i know you can sky is the limit, but i want to get it on the ground

i have the battleax 45s on my s2a

pretty good tire
wasnt sure if they were good enough for 3x the power
and higher speed and harsher cornering

Many around here, myself included, like the Avon Roadriders. I have them on both bikes. A modern design with an excellent combination of traction, handling and mileage.

This bike, has way more horsepower than either of my 1100E's and it is wearing V-rated BT-45's front and back.
With two of us on it at 85 ish, we hit the exhaust.
If you look closely, you can see the chicken strip after we arrived alive back at the camp. 80-100 miles later that day

140/80 17 in the rear

manual says just 3.5 and 4.5
are the sizes i have now right?

i dont even see the front size listed for either one of those tires

100 front and 130 back are a better fit for the narrow GS rims.

Shinko 230's or Avon Roadriders would be my recommendation. Contigo may also be worth a look, although I haven't priced them lately.

Recommend the Shinko 230's on a budget and Metzler lasertecs if cost is not an issue. Those are the only tires I have had the last few years.

I'll go along with Avon Roadriders. Have them on both my bikes, these may not be the greatest of tires, but they sure do beat the ones I'm used to using some 34 years ago.
