Just purchased my new SS brakelines. Now, I'm not cheap, but 2 bucks apiece for crush washers, sounds ridiculous to me. Seems to me like something a hardware store would carry. Enlightenment anyone ?

9 times out of 10, the new washer will leak.
Clean the old ones.

They are copper.

I don't reuse them, I also don't have air in the lines. Buy them in bulk at auto stores and use new washers.1981 GS650G , all the bike you need

If all your mating surfaces are clean, and you torque them properly, they will never leak.Comment

To each his own. You do understand the pressures and heat generated while braking and that those foolish engineers intended new washers to be used when reassembling, right?

I get mine at autozone...they fetch the divided little flip top box and whalla..maybe 15 cents each last batch i got.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
