    1980 GS550E Front Master Cylinder

Can anyone recommend a replacement? Mine is toast, been rebuilt once and has never worked that great now it's leaking.

    Thanks in advance,

Ebay has dozens of new master cylinders, take your pick.

I'd prefer to update to a newer master cylinder instead of the thrashed one's on ebay. I'm not going to pay $50.00 for a thirty year old master cylinder which is no better then the one I have already.

Has anyone upgraded to a new type of master cylinder?

      Thanks,

Check out Mike's XS. I'm using one of their new ones on my '78 550. Works great, and has a reliable brake light switch, too.

Or you can get a newer one from Ebay for a lot less than what you would pay for a brand new one. I'm looking at one from a 06-08 Ninja for about $75 shipped where a brand new one would run 200.
