Hello, I am fairly new to motorcycles, only been riding about a year. I started on a honda 750 shadow and about a month ago picked up a 1980 gs550L. I have been riding it around doing basic tune up things and addressing any problems that come up. I am now ready to start researching some upgrades I would like to do. I have ordered european style bars and will be doing something to make the huge L model seat a little more low profile. I would like to reduce the rake to make it look more like an E model because I am going for a cafe/brat look. Can this been done by just swaping the gs550 e forks and triple trees on to my bike? are there other forks that would be better to look into (gs750e)? I will also be swaping out the rear shocks, any suggestions on brands? Thank you for any help or suggestions!

I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
