So I have new discs and pads from Metalgear, new seals and bolts from Suzuki, new stainless lines from Goodridge, and today I installed a new M/C from Suzuki - I think it's from a V-Strom. I went into a local Suzuki and tried some of the brakes on their new bikes and found one that looked like it would work as it was on a bike with twin discs and similar bars. And it was a doddle to install on my GS1100G with Renthal bars.
Now it may be my imagination, but I seem to have more range between on and off now. I am getting a better feel on the lever. Plus now I have an adjustable lever so it doesn't have to feel like I am pulling right up to the grips. I like it.
Has anyone else tried this? I am still running the stock calipers and pistons, but the new M/C seems to really help with feel. So I doubt the braking is MORE, but it seems to feel more usable. Maybe the M/C piston has a longer travel?
