    Rear drum 1986 gs550

    Is it difficult to change the rear drum on my bike. Been ridin for a couple weeks with no rear brake, dumb I know. Where is a good place to find said brake drum?

      What model/year 550 do you have that has a rear DRUM brake???

          Most likely an L model as they still had rear drum brakes.

              I thought that all manufacturers were using disc's by '84.
              Except maybe H-D.

                  Cid, do you need the drum or just new shoes? New shoes are available from a lot of places, a new drum (if measured out of spec) can be tougher. Usually in eBay though.
