    Gsx swing arm on a gs?

    Will this fit a gs?

    its not a straight bolt on but you could get it to fit. much easier to fit an ally arm of a GSX1100, which i believe is a straight swap for the GS arm
    1978 GS1085.

      The easier swap is the '82 GS1100E arm. But there are issues to overcome.

      The arm is about 1" longer - need longer chain.

      750 14mm bolt will not fit the 1100's bearing spacers - need custom made spacers.
      Or.....
      1100 16mm bolt will not fit the frame boss - ream boss to 16mm.
      1100 16mm bolt thread is too short - cut more thread with 16mm die or use spacers or custom made bolt.

      Also, spacers are needed for the rear axle.

              as i said before, GSX1100 will fit, you just need to enlarge the pivot holes in the frame or get bushes made to suit the gsx pivot bearings with the smaller diameter pivot bolt

                80-83 GS1100E/ES arms are all the same.
                damn near a bolt on modification.
