    Front Fork Seals 1980 Gs750e

Hi all, new to the site, and just got an old gs750e that I would like to use to start learning more about motorcycle maintenance (other than the occasional oil change, I have very little experience working on bikes, so this will be a trial by fire).

I want to replace the front fork seals, which seem to be leaking. I have ordered my new seals and boots, but the Clymer says that I also need some metal anti-friction "DU" rings. I have seen others talk about teflon sliders/bushings, are these the same thing? I am having trouble tracking down more specific info. Any advice for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Being that the bike is 30+ years old I would install new bushings. Just check a parts fiche and you'll see the parts you need. Basscliff has several parts dealers in his mega welcome. You should be getting it soon. Might want to go to introduce yourself in the New to GS section.
