Rattling front end.

Tick tick tick tick.... faster as the bike moves faster, not as RPM's increase. When I touch the front brake even the slightest tiny bit, it stops. Could the pads be moving around inside the calipers? I cannot see anything amiss when I get off and look.

Can anyone relate to this?

Probably that or possibly the speedometer drive.

What year and model bike? what you may be hearing is the vented rotors passing through the brake pads. I grind a little taper on the leading edge of my pads when they are new to prevent this

Its clearly the brakes.. check your rotor for trueness, rust or scarring

yep, if you have drilled or slotted discs, it is the pads. either slightly binding or as you say, rattling a bit in the caliper

The 78 1000C of mine had this problem. The outer side pad was a bit sloppy fitting in the recess, so I took the pad and wrapped a layer of electrical tape around the perimeter to snug it up a bit. Problem stopped and hasnt returned.
